G & J away from home

Why, yes, the travel blog is cranked up again as we will shortly be heading overseas.  Back to Europe and the UK for a themed trip with two friends of mine, Beth and Marianne.  The three of us are all collectors of old-fashioned children's books and the other two especially collect Elinor Brent Dyer's Chalet School series.  So we're off to visit a number of the locations of the fictional Chalet School, as well as put ticks in boxes for a handful of other book-related locations.

Here's the overview:

Beth & Marianne's trip

As it says in the caption, that's Beth and Marianne's route - up via Hong Kong, back via Singapore.  Gary and I will be travelling with the other two up until they leave for Singapore, when we'll have another 10 days in the UK and then fly back home via Los Angeles and another visit with Pete and Marilynne.

Did I almost forget to mention Gary is coming on the trip?  That's because the original plan was 'Three Go to the Chalet School' - one of the actual titles from the series - but then we decided that, other than not having a book title to suit four travellers, there were only advantages in having Gary along.

And when do we leave?  In a mere 48 days.

Eeep!  Eeep!  I feel like I'm always saying this, but I am not nearly ready to be only 48 days away from heading overseas again.
