G & J away from home

We had a great sleep after the flight and light night arrival, then got up to very pleasant, brilliantly sunny weather and a (yet another) welcome from the elderly Sooty:

When Pete emailed to say they would be away at a weeding when we arrived he had assured us that we would find Sooty a very good host, and indeed we did.  He was gracious enough to allow me to take him for a walk out into the back yard:

After a breakfast (which included some of our odd British marmite on toast) we had a very quiet morning with the power board bristling with things that needed charging and the laptop going non-stop as we caught up with all the things that had been neglected while we've either been without internet or with it and too busy to have time for it.  Gary had set himself up at Marilynne's desk:

while I sat on the couch and read.  Again, Sooty, the good host, kept us company (though that may have been because his favourite sleeping spot is under Marilynne's chair).


This evening, once Pete and Marilynne had arrived home we settled down to watch a movie - perhaps settled down too well as I had to give up a quarter of the way through as I was having an excellent sleep in the chair!
