G & J away from home

My first scheduled post - meaning that this portion of the entry will post itself when the date and time I've set rolls around.  (In this case 19th April, 10am.)

We should be on our way to Auckland by now.  A further bonus we get with our wonderful cat sitters is the use of their home in Auckland on the night before we leave and after we return, plus garaging for the car while we're away.  Otherwise we would fly to Auckland, but then our car would be in our garage and there would be nowhere for the catsitter's car.

This works out really well and I think Gary and I both enjoy the drive through the North Island as we say good-bye to New Zealand for a couple of months.  Certainly  on our drive home in 2013 I was overwhelmed by how very green the New Zealand countryside was compared to the US South West (and even southern California) where we had spent the previous couple of weeks.

On the technical side, I'm going to mark the pre-scheduled part of the post by using a different font and dividing it off from my additions on the day.

We've made it on the first leg of the trip - to Auckland by car!  Nice drive up the country and we're now settled in at the cat sitters' home overnight and will fly out tomorrow.

And - bonus - the scheduled post worked!
