To Pack or Not to Pack?

Thursday, 16 April

Packing - we all have to do it sometime.

Gary, as I've mentioned, has already packed.  Even had time to take everything out and repack.  Has weighed his bag.  Measured it - it fails to conform to the Avalon requirements - and announced himself baffled as to how it crept up from 16kg to 19kg during the repack.  So much entertainment.

Me, not so packed, really.

This is not-packed!
You can see in the photo that I have assembled eleven items - that's eleven if we count the pair of gloves as two items.

Of course some important bits are there; the folder at the back contains our travel docs including those for the 22-day river cruise across Europe; the scarf and the possum-and-merino beanie and gloves are pretty much my entire preparedness pack for any cold weather that we might encounter. And then on the right there is a nice new set of three colour co-ordinated toilet bags.  (Admittedly they're empty but having them in 'The Pile' is a start!)

Did I mention there are only 3 days to go?

On the positive side all those jobs that needed doing before we left are pretty much done or under control so Friday and Saturday can be dedicated packing days.

Or in Gary's case, dedicated repacking days.
