Thursday, 28 May
I was up early this morning to get on with the (overdue) cat club newsletter for May but instead found I had an email about some publications work that needed doing so did that instead. It was a quick job, unlike Gary's continuing work on the fence! When Gary checked his email there was one from Greg from Reading letting us know that his father had died, just a few days before we were to have visited him. In 1993 we made a special trip to the UK to visit with Bernard who also had an interest in the Danvers family history - or at least one member of the family, Sir John Danvers. We hope to be able to get to the funeral.
Just before midday the fence was finally finished:

Between the GPS telling us we could get to the motel down a grass track and then finding we had to get back on the A1 heading south to get to get to the motel it was a difficult place to find, but we're settled in now. The milk is sitting outside on the window ledge where it will stay cool ... but not as cool as it would if we were at home where they have had a couple of nights of below-zero temperatures. Apparently the cats are choosing to forgo breakfast and staying snuggled up instead.
